Our Apartments

The American Gold Star Manor is an affordable, senior housing facility that is supported by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). All members of the household must be at least 62 years of age. It is “independent living” rather than “assisted living,” so residents must be able to take care of themselves and their own apartments.

Rents are based on HUD guidelines and are determined by the personal income and assets of each individual resident or couple. In general, the monthly rent is approximately 30% of the resident’s or couple’s income. Supplemental rental subsidies may be available depending on individual circumstances.

The rent includes utilities, grounds keeping, and maintenance. Optional out-of-pocket expenses include phone, cable TV and internet services.
